Welcome to my gallery, where every image tells a story and every video ignites the imagination. Step inside, let your senses wander, and allow yourself to be captivated by the artistry that awaits. Here, passion and creativity intertwine, inviting you to explore and indulge in a world of visual temptation. Enjoy the journey!
Not to be overused or thrown around willy-nilly, the term is a directive for someone to calm down, allow more room for others, or to simply do less.
The phrase originated in Black and Latinx ballroom culture and it’s the namesake for an entire section of Toward Joy: New Frameworks for American Art, where portrait paintings from our American art collection are hung at seated height, so visitors are eye-level with the sitters in the paintings when viewed from the park benches in the gallery.
Victoria von Blaque (@bbwfemmefatale), entertainer and co-founder of the House of Transcendence, is one of the ballroom and drag artists we invited to write a special gallery label and “spill the T” or tell the truth about the history of seated portraits which have been inextricably tied to nation-building, positions of power, and attempts by white Americans to exert control over the historical record.
1/24/25 Las Vegas, Episode #9; Guest Star: Victoria Von Blaque of "Titty Confessions"
"Queens is literally the world’s borough where everyone is supposed to be welcomed and everyone is supposed to feel safe and as a young, trans non-binary person, I’ve alway felt safe out here until recently" - Victoria Von Blaque
On Today’s Menu on Marsha’s Plate We talk with Victoria Von Blaque about growing up in long Island, Sex work beginnings and being a fat girl in porn
Since the unexpected passing of their sister Cecilia Gentili, Victoria Von Blaque, a consultant at New York City-based firm Trans Equity Consulting, has not had a chance to process their grief.
COIN (Cecilia’s Occupational Inclusion Network), a health program for sex workers, provides free care in an affirming, supportive environment.
The COIN Clinic is open to anybody who identifies as a sex worker and self-attestation is the only requirement for enrollment. COIN patients have access to primary care, sexual health, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, and any other services received at Callen-Lorde. For uninsured patients, COIN works to cover the cost of care and assists in obtaining coverage when possible.
By amplifying the voices of sex workers, healers, sex educators, and therapists, this doc presents how participating in certain sex practices can foster liberation, autonomy, and ultimately become a tool for healing.
I have to admit, when I was first asked to do a music video, I had no idea it would turn out like this! I'm honestly so grateful that I took the leap. Lol!
